In this day and age, high self-esteem can be hard to come by, but a beautiful smile is a way that I can help people feel good about themselves. As an orthodontist, I am actively involved with so many people in my community, and the friendships we create give me immeasurable satisfaction. When I see a patient around town or at the soccer field, and they proudly show off their smile, I know I’ve done my job well.

Education and continuing education

My formal education began at Utah State University, where I played tennis while studying chemistry. I attended the University of Nebraska Dental School, and graduated with highest distinction with my Doctorate of Dental Surgery. Following dental school, I provided general dental services in Pocatello, ID before applying to the Ohio State University’s orthodontic residency program. I earned a Master of Science and an orthodontic specialty certificate.

In order to provide the fastest, safest, most aesthetic care to our patients, I continually update my education on the newest techniques, customer service, and safety. This includes active memberships with the American Dental Association, the American Association of Orthodontists, and the Arizona Dental Association.

Outside the office

My wife Bobbi occasionally works for me when she is not driving our kids around to all their different schools and activities. We have four children: Chanel is 16 and goes to Boulder Creek High School and plays on the soccer team; Erika is a freshmen at Boulder Creek High and loves to design clothes; Jackson is a seventh grader at Basis of Peoria and loves learning, reading, and robotics; and Easton is a fourth grader at Diamond Canyon Elementary and loves sports, talking, and playing with his friends.

We currently have one silver cat named Andy who joined our family after about ten years of our kids begging for a pet. Now our house wouldn’t be a home without him.

While my family obviously comes first in my life, I enjoy playing tennis and working out in my free time. Our family also loves going to the movies and camping.

Orthodontics gives me an opportunity to make a positive change in the lives of my patients, but it also allows me to be a strong member of my community. I sponsor local theater groups, high school sports teams, high school choir, cheer, little league, and pretty much anything in which my patients are involved. My family and I are also active with our church and its outreach programs, such as community clean-up events and food bank support.

I was doubtful about braces at my age, but I needed to correct the increasing spaces between my upper teeth. I was living in Mexico for six months and I got my braces there without thinking how hard it could be to find an orthodontist that accepts patients with braces on already. Then life took me to a new destination and I had my braces adjusted a few times in Ireland. Finally I came home to Phoenix, AZ. Before I found the right orthodontist, I visited various orthodontist clinics around the area. The I met Dr. Wyatt Wood. He went beyond my expectations, and I thank him so much for the outstanding job and service!!! From the very first time I walked into the office, I have had nothing but pleasant visits. The staff is very professional and the front desk workers are very friendly. They come highly recommended in my book.

I relocated from Phoenix to Apex, NC two weeks ago and had to find again a new orthodontist. Dr. Wyatt Wood gave all needed information to my new orthodontist and now I will be able to finish my treatments. Thank you.

Sincerely,
Tatiana C.
